Actron CP7529 Works Well.
I received the Actron CP7529 sooner than expected!! The unit works well, great quality, however, the RPM meter is reversed between 2 cycle and 4 cycle. Not a major big deal, but not expected, you just switch to read the correct RPM's. I like the unit and is better priced than the more expensive types.

Actron CP7529 Good Timing Light
The first one I received was DOA, but Amazon's replacement process was fast and easy so I soon had a replacement. The timing light works very well and has a bright display. It's plastic so it is really light and may not take much abuse, so I guess time will tell. I was able to quickly determine the centrifugal advance on my boat engine and set the timing accurately. The digital tach feature is great for making rpm adjustments. I'm pleased with the purchase.

I bought the CP7529 a year ago. I wanted a decent light for 25 years and finally got it, DIY. I just used it for the first time today on my new 1996 Ford Aspire. Without the manual handy I began using it by pressing the flashlight button, seemed logical. But that shows really fast flashes not a constant flashlight. I thought it was defective at first. Then I pressed the Adv button and got it to time. I would like to learn what to use the Advance feature for. Found the manual online at Actron.

Actron CP7529
The Actron CP7529 Digital Timing Light is all it claims to be. I find it easy to use and very flexible (Dwell Angle, RPM, Strobe, Search Light). It is an asset for anyone interested in classic cars.
Actron CP7529 Better than I thought it would be.
I have the ActronCP7529 Digital timing Light. So far I've used this timing light to time a 32 year old six volt motorcycle, and a 30 year old twelve volt car.The light worked flawlessly on both applications. The light has a electronic thachometer that really comes in handy for an accurate measure of the engines RPM. A good looking instrument too. I expect many more years of timing bliss.
P.S. I bought it at Amazon. Got free shipping and it was at my door in 3 days.

the timing light enabled me to get my rebuilt cb100 runing very smoothly. the rpm and timing functions are acurate, and the light very strong. The instructions for using the light on a 6 volt system were easy to use. It is worth the price.

I bought this timing light to replace a Sears unit that was failing on me. It's plenty bright and I love the built-in tach and advance feature since I use it mostly to time vintage motorcycles. Motorcycle tachs are notoriously inaccurate so having the digital one right on the timing light is very handy. I even use this on 6 volt motorbikes and engines without electrical systems. Since it has an inductive pickup, I simply use an auxiliary 12 volt battery to power the light. I consider a timing light to be my most valuable tool when it comes time to troubleshoot ignition systems and this unit, with its additional features, makes it even more valuable.

I could even touch this timing light with my employee discount from Advance Auto Parts for close to the same price. I compared the timing advance feature with the timing tape and traditional timing light method and both timing lights read exactly the same, so ignore what people tell you about using these advance timing lights.
